Far Sighted Chihuahua

Advances in vetinary medicine these days are astonishing. Scenes like this will be commonplace in parks, streets and doggy discos around the world as household pets begin demanding more and more of their owners! Ha ha!

Packed Up!

Starting to enjoy this! I added a dust overlay to hide some sloppy draftsmanship. Still though. I really like that the colours are vibrant. Here's a link to the original pic to show how far off I was from the original!

Egypt Unrest

Tryin a different paint style altogether. Didn't take long, bit messy, but fun and flowy ....... kind of. Inspired by Celia Calle's work, but falls a hell of a lot short. The ref pic was on the MSNBC photography section.

Egyptian Riots

Found another great pic with really cool composition. I tried to copy the shapes of the guards when I started but in the end it would have been too too painstaking for an evening practice, so I just added a couple of highlights here and there and hopefully got away with it. It's gettin slightly easier to use the wacom. Slowly, slowly and fingers crossed eventually! The colors are starting to look more natural than the previous couple which has been the objective with these, getting myself away from the brighter cartoon type palette I'm used to at work.

Terminal Two

Took a break from the sketchers this Sunday to have another digital 'paint in'. I guess I'm learning backwards here. I never mastered the wacom tablets, it'd always been pencil or f*** off with me until the cintiq came along. I'd say this took me the bulk of three or so hours, probably would've taken half that time with the cintiq, but it's a bit of fun. I found a pic online of the new Dublin Airport Terminal Two building that had really great colour and I tried my best to emulate them. Don't bother blowing it up to fullscreen it's a mass of mistakes.

Digital Doodling

Used a pic from the BBC 'In Pictures' page as a ref. Pretty cool photo taken during the cyclone in north eastern Australia. The leaves are flying off the treetops, I added the distant structures for a bit of balance. It's inspired by the Limbolo blog that just blows me away every time there's an update.
